A house foundation and structure with seismic details are the most important part of the home. Yet this is the most neglected part in home building in North America. Full Height Basement foundation wall with water proof wrap at the footing ( foundation of the foundation wall ) This is above building code.

The Framing & Materials

Fir Lumber is used in all our homes vs all homes use spruce lumber. Fir Lumber has stronger compression strenght and is more dense and moister resistant. They use fir lumber in schools and mid rise buildings. We also use bigger washers at the anchor points from wood to concrete base, structural nails, beam brackets with lag screws to secure all beams . This is simply not added in 95 percent of homes.
